Intelligent Systems Technology, Inc. Again Named One Of Los Angeles'
Fastest Growing Technology Companies By Deloitte & Touche;
Fourth Year in a Row to Make 'Fast 50' List

SANTA MONICA, CALIF. – AUG. 13, 2001 – For the fourth year in a row, Santa Monica-based Intelligent Systems Technology, Inc. (www.intelsystech.com) has been selected as one of Southern California’s fastest growing technology companies by Deloitte & Touche LLP in its "2001 Los Angeles Technology Fast 50" ranking.

Continuing to post an impressive growth rate, Intelligent Systems Technology, Inc. (ISTI) is one of only 17 software companies in this year's "Los Angeles Technology Fast 50," a list that covers technology companies located in Los Angeles, Riverside, Santa Barbara, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties.

"While many of our Fast 50 companies are often repeat winners, ISTI's ability to remain on the list for four consecutive years is no easy feat," said Gary Dickey, partner, Technology and Communications Group, Deloitte & Touche. "This accomplishment illustrates the company's staying power and dedication to succeed."

"Technology as we know it has been part of our lives for less than 50 years, yet it has become a part of our every day existence. We at Deloitte & Touche salute Intelligent Systems Technology, Inc., whose leaders had the vision, and whose staff had the capabilities to keep up with the demands of today's fast-paced technology marketplace," added Dickey.

ISTI's Chairman and CEO, Dr. Azad Madni, credits the demand for ISTI's business process management and e-learning technologies for the company's accelerated revenue growth over the past five years.

"As companies continue to expand, acquire and merge, and transform to an e-business model, effective planning, process management, and e-learning initiatives will be major contributors to a company's competitive advantage, and our software products are designed to serve as a critical process management tool in this arena," Dr. Madni said.

ISTI also was honored by the Software Council of Southern California.

"As a Software Council member, we applaud Intelligent Systems Technology, Inc. for not only being one of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in Greater Los Angeles, but making the Deloitte & Touche list four years in a row," said Jerry Skillett, President of the Software Council of Southern California. "We also are proud to note that ISTI is the 2000 Southern California Software Developer of the Year."

To qualify for the Fast 50, companies must be in business for a minimum of five years; must not be a subsidiary or division; must have 1996 revenues of at least $50,000, and 2000 revenues of $1 million or more; and must be considered a technology company which is defined as producing technology, manufacturing a technology-related product, being technologically intensive or using unique technology in problem-solving, or devoting a high percentage of effort to research and development of technology.
